With Cortana on your Lumia you can do everything from send a tweet, check a status update, to controlling the music, lights or heating in your office or home to taking notes and finding out more about the world you live in.

Cortana Memo (Free)

Cortana Memo remembers everything you tell her. Simply launch Cortana and say “Memo, remember that I left my keys on the kitchen counter.” Now, when you need to find your keys, just launch Cortana and ask “Memo, where did I leave my keys?” Simple!

Fitbit (Free)

Fitbit is one of the most popular fitness trackers around, and the official app provides a custom Cortana voice-activated experience. You can log foods and set alarms with simple natural sentences. You can also use the app to track basic activity, or connect with Fitbit’s line of activity trackers and the Aria Smart Scale to get a complete picture of your daily stats—including steps, distance, calories burned, sleep, weight, and more.

Skype (Free)

Skype is the most popular VoIP communication app around, and it’s owned by Microsoft, so you’d expect its Cortana integration to be pretty hot! MixRadio (Free)

MixRadio is a streaming music service that brings you free, personalised music with no advertising. You can use Cortana to say “MixRadio Play Me” in the MixRadio app, and to start the Play Me mix and “Mix Radio Skip” to skip the current song (you can skip six times in an hour.

FourSquare (Free)

FourSquare’s Cortana integration lest you easily check in to places. You can also use Cortana to search for places or ask her what’s trending. Tell Foursquare your favourite things and it gets to know you. Every search is tailored to your tastes, your past ratings, and picks from friends and experts you trust.

Twitter (Free)
